Snorting Condoms Challenge on the Rise, Health Officials Declared

April 2, 2018 By Waleed Javed

Snorting Condoms Challenge.

The snorting condoms challenge seems to have taken the place of the Tide Pods Challenge.

If we thought that eating or cooking Tide Pods was a stupid and potentially deadly thing to do, it would appear that ingesting detergent pods is no longer considered trendy. US health officials have announced that the snorting condoms challenge, albeit not a new fad, has taken the place of the detergent challenge and we’re bound to see thrill-seeking kids rushed to the hospital.

What Is the Snorting Condoms Challenge?

Because the world-wide-web never ceases to amaze us, we bring you the next best thing after the Tide pods challenge – inhaling condoms.

If you’re wondering what this new fad is about, then here’s what we know so far. The aim of this challenge is to snort an unwrapped condom, and then you have to your hand inside your mouth and yank it out of your throat. Sounds easy, doesn’t it?

Unfortunately, we can’t say for certain why some kids would subject themselves to this trial considering that it’s not only outright disgusting but potentially fatal as well since the condom can easily get lodged inside the throat, preventing the patient from breathing.

The best piece of news so far is that no fatalities have been registered since the trend crept up on social media channels.

Although many individuals, especially teachers, are trying their best to teach parents about the dangers of these Internet challenges, this does not seem to dissuade teens to try them out.

Conclusion

Commenting on the latest snorting condom challenge, Stephen Enriquez, a state education specialist, said that whatever we do, teens will always find a way to recreate the things they’ve head or seen on the Internet.

Let’s also keep in mind that not all challenges revolve around bravado, the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS being the perfect example to illustrate the idea.

Maryland Corrections Officer Stabs Wife, Tells Police Another Person Attacked Them

March 29, 2018 By Waleed Javed

Maryland Corrections Officer Arrested for Stabbing Wife

The Maryland corrections officer used similar handcuffs to restrain his wife before stabbing her.

A 45-year-old Maryland corrections officers were arrested and charged with premeditate murder and other charges after he stabbed his wife and told the authorities that they’d been attacked by another person. The authorities stated that clues found in the man’s home didn’t match his account of the incident.

Maryland Corrections Officer Shackled Wife in Basement

On Wednesday, the Maryland authorities were summoned to a Charles County house following a frantic 911 call from a man who claimed he and his wife were attacked and stabbed by an unknown individual.

After arriving at the location, the first responders discovered a severely injured woman in the home’s basement. The victim was rushed to the hospital where the doctors determined that she was stabbed multiple times. As of Wednesday, the woman’s condition remains critical.

The homeowner, 45-year-old Armando Quispe Rodriguez, a Maryland Corrections Officer, told the authorities that they were attacked by an unknown individual who stabbed both him and his wife.

However, several clues found in Rodriguez’s home led detectives to believe that the individual might throw the authorities on a false lead.

The Maryland corrections officer was taken to the hospital as he had multiple lacerations on his arms, reportedly from fighting off the aggressor. After receiving medical attention, the man was taken into custody and charged with premeditated murder, false imprisonment, first-degree assault, and other charges stemming from his arrest.

Conclusion

During his police interview, the man confessed he assaulted his wife while she was asleep and used his handcuffs in order to subdue the woman. He then dragged the woman to the basement where she shackled her ankles and continued beating her. Minutes before calling the authorities, the man stabbed his wife multiple times.

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the Maryland corrections officer was placed on leave without pay. The motive for the assault was not made available.

Volusia County Robber Arrested After Leaving Fingerprints on Doorbell

March 20, 2018 By Waleed Javed

Volusia County Robber Apprehended

The Volusia County Robber forgot to wear gloves when he rang the man’s doorbell.

The Volusia County deputies were able to apprehend an individual who tried breaking into an elderly couple’s home using the fingerprints he left on the doorbell. According to the suspect’s arrest warrant, the Volusia County Robber rang the doorbell to make sure no one is at home.

Volusia County Robber Wasn’t Wearing Any Gloves

Last week, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office announced that 41-year-old Jason Braun, an Edgewater resident, has been taken into custody and charged with attempted robbery.

According to the authorities, five months ago, an unknown individual tried gaining access inside an apartment owned by an 81-year-old man. Seeing that there’s no one home, Braun proceeded to break one of the home’s windows.

Unfortunately for Mr. Braun, the homeowner was inside the apartment and heard the commotion. Allegedly, the individual took out his gun and fired three or four shots towards Braun who was trying to enter the house via the broken window.

The suspect managed to escape before the authorities arrived. With very little information from the eyewitness, the authorities began searching the premises in an attempt to uncover a clue that might lead them to the perpetrator.

Upon penning down the 81-year-old man’s statement, he recalled hearing the doorbell ringing before seeing the suspect trying to break into the home. The forensic team managed to recover an undamaged set of prints from the man’s doorbell which were later sent to the lab for analysis.

Conclusion

Five months later, the results confirmed that the fingerprints matched Braun’s, who was wanted in connection with another burglary.

The suspect was taken into custody without any incidents. Later, the Volusia County robber confessed the deed and was booked into the county jail. The authorities charged Braun with trespassing and attempted robbery. Additional charges might be added after the investigation is completed.

Baseball Coach Arrested for Teaching Teens to Masturbate During Private Sessions

March 13, 2018 By Waleed Javed

Baseball Coach Teaches Sex Ed.

The baseball coach allegedly called his students to asked them if they’ve done their ‘homework.’

The Indiana authorities recently arrested a 46-year-old elementary school teacher who allegedly taught his students how to masturbate. According to the man’s arrest warrant, the baseball coach would ask students personal questions about their sex life and would even phone them at home.

Baseball Coach Turns Private PE Classes into Sex Ed

On Friday, the Indiana authorities arrested 46-year-old Joe Kimerer, a fourth-grade teacher, and charged him with several counts of sexual gratification with a minor. Kimerer has been teaching PE at the Amelia Earhart Elementary School for the past 18 years, and the investigation showed that the baseball coach did not have any disciplinary record.

According to the authorities, beginning with the summer of 2014, Kimerer organized private baseball classes and encouraged his students to partake. However, during his classes, the baseball coaches asked his students uncomfortable questions about their sex life.

One of the victims told the authorities that the baseball coach would often send them to the bathroom to masturbate and would later ask them about masturbation methods or how it felt. Allegedly, the lewd teacher would go as far as giving his students ‘homework’ – a codename for masturbation and phone them at home to ask if they’ve done their homework.

The police investigation revealed that the most recent incident regarding Kimerer’s disgusting obsession took place back in February. That’s one of the parents notified the law enforcement officers.

What’s even more troubling is that all of the baseball coach’s private classes were on the elementary school’s premises.

Conclusion

When confronted with his deed, Kimerer declared that he knows nothing about the student’s claims and that he never encouraged his students to masturbate. At the moment, the man is in county jail and is expected in court to answer for the charges brought against him.

Middlesex Mom Who Went Missing Turns Up Dead in Woods

March 2, 2018 By Waleed Javed

Middlesex Mom Turns Up Dead.

The Middlesex mom discovered dead had a heated argument with her aggressor.

TerriLynn St. John, the Middlesex mom who went missing on Tuesday morning, was found dead in a forest clearing near her residence. The authorities were led to the woman’s body by a 23-year-old man who admitted murdering the woman.

Middlesex Mom Thrown from Moving Vehicle and Strangled

According to the authorities, at the beginning of the week, 23-year-old Alvin B. Keyser was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder, concealing a body, and tampering with evidence after the man admitted to killing TerriLynn St. John.

Hours before being transferred to county jail, Keyser led the authorities to the place where he concealed St. John’s body. The investigators revealed that the Middlesex mom’s body was partially covered by leaves.

Following Keyser’s confession, the detectives managed to establish a timeline. On Tuesday morning, at around 7:30 a.m., Keyser droved to 23-year-old TerriLynn St. John’s residence to confront the woman about something.

St. John shared the house with her boyfriend and two children, ages two and one. Keyser and St. John argued in the front yard and, according to one eyewitness, the Middlesex mom was forced to get inside Keyser’s van, despite the suspect saying that she went willingly.

It would appear that the argument went on for some time inside the vehicle. At one point, Keyser admitted pushing TerriLynn out of the moving vehicle, stopping his car, and strangling her. Fearing that he might be discovered, the man concealed the body in the forest clearing.

Conclusion

St. John’s disappearance was discovered after he failed to show for work on Tuesday morning. Before identifying Keyser, the woman’s live-in boyfriend was considered a person of interest in the case.

Following the discovery of the body, St. John’s family and boyfriend set up a GoFundMe account to cover the funeral expenses.

Scientists Measure the Expansion Rate of the Universe, Challenge Physics?

February 26, 2018 By Waleed Javed

stars and galaxies in the universe

The expansion rate of the Universe might be much faster than its current maximum speed.

Using the Hubble Telescope, NASA astronomers conducted a new series of measurements targeting the expansion rate of the universe. To their shock, this is much faster than originally calculated. The measures are based on the rate of change from the Big Bang, suggesting undiscovered physics may be at work. This is one of the potential explanations for this phenomenon.

New Measurements of the Expansion Rate of the Universe Require New Physics

The team undertaking this measurement project have already been working for over six years. Using stars to mark distances in space, scientists have been trying to determine the distance between galaxies. In doing so, they could also refine the rate of expansion of the universe.

Called the Hubble constant, finding a more precise version of the ratio between expansion and time could help scientists understand the nature of our universe as a whole, or at least glean some new light on it.

This latest set of results has expanded the range of the research by over 10 times the previous measurements. With them, it was determined that the new ratio for universal expansion was much higher than previously estimated.

First calculated by the European Space Agency’s Planck satellite almost a century ago, the rate the universe is expanding was clocked at 67 kilometers per second per megaparsec (or 3.3 million light years). A potential maximum was set at 69 kilometers per second per megaparsec.

The maximum value was shattered by the new research, with NASA calculating the rate of expansion at 73 kilometers per second per megaparsec. This would indicate that the universe is expanding much faster than previously thought. It is also pointing to something that shouldn’t actually be possible, at least based on our current discoveries and understanding.

With no clear answer as to how this can be true, scientists can only begin speculating. Some theorize it to be dark matter speeding up the process of expansion. Others think that an undiscovered subatomic particle may be to blame.

However, regardless of what is doing it, discovering the reason the universe expands and why it is doing so this quickly will no doubt open the door to all sorts of new discoveries after that.

An Ohio couple was recently arrested and faced with charges of felonious assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated burglary after allegedly assaulting a 52-year-old man with the chainsaw. The victim was rushed to the hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Ohio Couple Assaults Victim Over Rent Dispute

On Tuesday, 32-year-old William Mitchell and 23-year-old Aliyah Wiley were taken into custody and charged with aggravated robbery and assault after Mitchell attacked his former roommate with a chainsaw.

The events that led to the arrest of the Ohio couple began to unfold that evening after Mitchell and his girlfriend went to the 52-year-old’s house in order to talk about the owed rent. According to the victim, at one point, the argument became heated, Williams yelling at his former roommate.

When he saw that there was no chance of settling things by talking, Mitchell allegedly knocked the 52-year-old man to the ground. Still, the man managed to grab his assailant, which also fell to the ground.

The men started to wrestle and, at one point, Mitchell apparently grabbed a chainsaw who happened to lie around the leaving room and started hitting the victim without turning it on. After slashing his hands with the chainsaw, the man tried to run away but was tackled by Wiley, Mitchell’s girlfriend.

Allegedly, while trying to exit the apartment, Wiley pulled the victim inside, where Mitchell hit him on the back with the chainsaw’s blade.

Eventually, the 52-year-old man managed to escape the Ohio couple, seeking refuge at his neighbor’s house from where he called the authorities. The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Georgia Horse Trainer Indicted for Force-Feed Whiskey and Cocaine to Goat

February 20, 2018 By Waleed Javed

Georgia Horse Trainer

A Georgia horse trainer was arrested after force-feeding mixture of cocaine and whiskey to goat.

On Thursday, the Georgia authorities arrested a 28-year-old horse trainer who allegedly abused a goat by force-feeding it a mixture of cocaine and whiskey. The authorities were notified about the incident by a social media user who watched the clip posted by the man and his friends.

Georgia Horse Trainer and Friends Said That It Was the Funniest Thing They Ever Did

The authorities have recently arrested 28-year-old Sergio Palomares – Guzman, a horse trainer working on a Georgia ranch, over an incident which allegedly occurred on the 2nd of January. According to the man’s arrest warrant, the horse trainer, together with two of his friends, went to the goat pen in order to pull a prank on one of the animals.

Allegedly, one of the individuals involved pulled out his phone and started filming. The movie reveals Palomares – Guzman holding the goat by its horns while one of the two suspects shoved what seems like cocaine down its throat. To top it all off, one of Palomares – Guzman’s prank buddies takes a bottle of whiskey and forces the goat to drink.

The disturbing video ends with the trio laughing their hearts out, as the poor animal tries to wrestle with the substances. Of course, the movie was posted on Facebook, accompanied by a ‘witty’ message.

A couple of days later, while reviewing the video, a social media user tipped off the authorities who arrested the Georgia horse trainer. For his performance, the man was charged with aggravated animal abuse.

Conclusion

Following Palomares – Guzman’s arrest, the ranch’s owner was notified regarding the incident. The individual denied of having knowledge of animal abuse occurring on his ranch. As for the unfortunate goat, according to the authorities, it was later adopted after receiving a clean bill of health from the vet.

Florida Man Shoots Live-In Girlfriend and Texts Detective about Murder

February 15, 2018 By Waleed Javed

Florida man arrested.

Florida man arrested after lying to the authorities that a home invader shot and killed his live-in girlfriend.

On Tuesday, the Marian County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 52-year-old Florida man who called the authorities after an alleged home invasion which happened on the 30th of January. The authorities later learned that the crime scene was staged to cover up the murder of the Florida man’s live-in girlfriend.

Florida Man Accidentally Sends Text Message to Detectives

According to Damon Baxley, one of the detectives in charge of the home invasion and homicide case, 52-year-old David W. Roming called the authorities on the 30th of January after someone allegedly broke into his home and shooting his 64-year-old girlfriend.

Upon arriving at Roming’s home, the authorities discovered the body of 64-year-old Sally Kaufmann – Ruff, with a single gunshot wound to right side of her head. The victim was transported to the hospital where she later passed away as a result of her injuries.

During his police interview, Roming declared that he woke up in the dead of night with an individual leaning over him. The Florida man could not discern any facial features, as the man was wearing a lit headlamp.

A fight ensued, Roming trying to grab the suspect’s revolver. At one point, the man recalls hearing two distinct shots, after which the suspect vanished.

The Florida man’s story had many inconsistencies from the very beginning, including some piece of evidence found in Roming’s yard that bore his DNA and not the suspect’s.

Baxley said that several days later, he received a text message on his phone from Roming in which he wrote that the police must have figured out that he killed Kaufmann-Ruff and not some home invader.

The Florida man was asked to show up to a second police interview where he admitted that he intended to send the message to his wife, but failed to do so. He also claimed that he could have killed Kaufmann-Ruff, on account of suffering from frequent blackouts and having out-of-body experiences.

Conclusion

Roming also declared that, on the night of the murder, he had a blackout and woke up with the revolver in his hands and heard strange gurgling sounds coming from his live-in girlfriend.

The authorities arrested Roming and charged him with first-degree murder, filing a false report, and tampering with evidence.

Is the Sun Going to Get Dimmer and Cooler in the Next Decades? (Study)

February 12, 2018 By Waleed Javed

sunspots on the sun in close up

According to scientists, as the number of sunspots decreases, the sunlight will get dimmer.

The Sun has an 11-year cycle of highs and lows, one that scientists are predicting will have an extraordinary low-point in its next cycle. This unusually low point is expected to occur around mid-century or 2050.

The ‘grand minimum’, as it is being called, is an especially low point in the sun’s ultraviolet radiation, which could lead to a noticeably dimmer world. People shouldn’t expect darkness, but reportedly, they might experience a miniature ice-age and a slowing of the effects of global warming.

What to expect during the next Grand Minimum of 2050

As fewer sunspots are created, the Earth begins approaching a grand minimum. There are more than 20 years of data from the International Ultraviolet Explorer satellite mission documenting these patterns. More sunspots create a brighter, warmer Earth. In contrast, fewer ones create a noticeably dimmer planet.

This has happened before, centuries ago. The “Maunder Minimum” occurred, as it is known, occurred in between 1645 and 1715. Although England and parts of Europe experienced unusual freezing such as the Thames River and the Baltic Sea turning to ice, other areas such as Alaska and Greenland actually had warmer temperatures.

As the solar activity quiets down, Earth’s ozone layer thins. This creates erratic weather patterns. Overall, it is expected to be 7 percent cooler than the average temperature. The global air temperature is expected to be a few tenths of a degree Celsius cooler.

Will this stop the damaging effects of global warming? No, but it could slow down things. While the help of grand minimum is appreciated and gives humanity a lot of help, it does not stop global warming.

Also, these small advantages also come with disadvantages. The thing is, after a grand minimum, the sun heats back up again. When it does this, it is expected and believed that it will heat up more than ever.

Current study results were released in a paper in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.
