In 2014, scientists claimed that they discovered strong evidence regarding primordial gravitational waves. As per the study, the universe experienced rapid growth after a few seconds of Big Bang. Astronomers dubbed the phenomena as BICEP2.
Recently, European Space Agency (ESA) admitted that the theory of BICEP2 was a mistake. The intergovernmental organization accepted that mistake happened due to optical illusion.
The researchers of Planck satellite worked together with the team of BICEP 2. The close analysis reveals that research lacks evidence regarding the primordial gravitational waves.
Scientists utilized numerous powerful telescopes like BICEP2 and Planck in order to spot these waves. They are usually found in the background of cosmic microwave (CBM). Astronomers believe that these radiations were released nearly 14 million years ago.
The latest report of European Space Agency informs that the dust particles present in the space gives birth to these waves. The dust of the solar system contains characteristics pretty similar to microwaves background. Hence, astronomers considered them as microwave waves.
As per the latest ESA report, The BICEP2 team believed that these signals are originated in primordial gravitational waves. They were unaware that there is another thing that can produce similar waves
