A Florida woman has the shock of her life to discover that her belly pains did not cause by bad Chinese food she ate the night before but by her second child. The woman gave birth to a healthy boy on the way to the hospital.
Poisoning Because of the Scrubs
Crystal Amerson, mother of two and caretaker at a retirement home, told the reporters that she began experiencing severe belly pains on Sunday morning, at around 4:00 a.m.
The Florida woman recalled sitting in bed, fast asleep when she was awoken by a very sharp pain in her abdomen. Amerson never gave those pains too much importance, as she was convinced that they were caused by some bad Chinese food she ate the night before.
As the Florida woman recalls, she spent the better part of Sunday morning making trips to the bathroom. When the pain failed to subside, the woman decided that it’s high time to take a trip to the hospital.
The ambulance arrived at Amerson’s Pensacola home at around 6:30. After a quick check-up, the paramedics told the woman that she definitely wasn’t experiencing food poisoning but labor pains.
As it turns out, Amerson’s child was on its way, baffling both mother and the paramedics. The woman told the reporters that this isn’t her first child, but even during her first pregnancy she didn’t put on extra weight nor had the ‘mommy belly.’
Conclusion
There’s another reason why Amerson might have missed the telltale signs of her pregnancy. As the Florida woman pointed out, she’s working at a retirement home for people diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s and, as a result, wearing scrubs is mandatory.
Thus, Amerson commented that her wearing loose clothes all the time might have fooled her into thinking that she’s not pregnant.
