General Motors have unveiled the newer version of the Cadillac CTS-V sedan. And they say that this is the maximum Cadillac V-Series and it hosts the very best of what is possible at the company.
It is what’s inside the sedan that matters as it boasts a superior supercharged 6.2 liter LT4 V8 engine which is tuned at 640 horsepower and 630 pound per feet of torque. This is a little less than the Corvette Z6 and can be said without any argument that it’s the most powerful muscle car that Cadillac’s ever produced. It’s a rear wheel drive along with launch control and an eight speed automatic transmission, and yes the manual transmission version gets a shun from now on. Cadillac claims that the new CTS-V shall sprint to 60-miles per hour in less than 4 seconds (3.7 to be precise) and it will boast a top speed of a thrilling 200 miles per hour.
Cadillac’s engineers state that they have made the vehicle to utilize all of its power with total harmony, precision and poise. This is made possible by Magnetic Ride Control active damping system (with a claimed 40-percent increase in responsiveness) and a 25-percent increase in structural stiffness that would significantly improve overall handling and steering of the car. High performance Brembo brakes come in stock along with 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in seriously sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that will reportedly offer 1g in lateral acceleration.
Cadillac claims that the changes done in the bodywork are functional. This includes the additions of carbon-fiber hood, front splitter, rear spoiler and diffuser that are extremely light and help in the overall aerodynamics of the car. These additions would be available as an optional package for those who adore the carbon look. The interior is more of what we’re accustomed to on lesser CTS models, but there’s a new optional carbon fiber trim, microfiber suede upholstery trim, and extremely awesome Recaro seats. The CTS-V will launch later next year.
