On the 14th of June, Khairy Simon, a 27-year-old Michigan dad, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and absconding evidence. The man has been accused of being an accessory to the murder of his 3-year-old son. Simon was persuaded to testify against his 29-year-old girlfriend, who, allegedly, beat the child during potty training.
Michigan Dad Transported Baby’s Body and Buried It Next to Home
According to court documents, in May 2015, Khairy Simon and Erika Finley, Simon’s 29-year-old girlfriend, had been taken into custody and charged with murder.
The authorities began suspecting the couple after the Department of Health and Human Services was sent to investigate claims of domestic violence. Apparently, one of the couple’s children came to school with bruises on his body.
Following the investigation, the authorities took the boy and another child away from Simon and his girlfriend and placed them in protective custody.
Several weeks later, Simon and Finley were arrested and charged in the disappearance and murder of 3-year-old Kimora Simon, the couple’s youngest child.
During questioning, Simon told the investigators that his girlfriend lost her temper while attempting to potty train the infant and hit her with a closed fist. He also told the investigators that Finley used an extension cord to punish the infant.
Allegedly, the infant’s injuries were so severe that little Kimora passed away later that evening. During his trial, the judge asked Simon why he didn’t intervene. The accused said that he was afraid of his girlfriend, who’s two times bigger than he is.
After Kimora passed away, the Michigan man allegedly placed the body in a backpack and carried it several miles from home. He then dug up a shallow grave and placed the infant there. The authorities have been unable to find Kimora’s body. A police spokesperson said that the child’s body was probably taken apart and eaten by wild animals.
