It appears that Samsung’s Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Beta for Galaxy S6 models will slow down scrolling speed, and this is something that Samsung was aiming for. The tactic is similar with something that Apple has been doing with some of its devices for years now.
Apparently that Samsung’s Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Beta for Galaxy S6 models will slow down scrolling speed and that is something to be glad about. This is actually a technique that Samsung is counting on to actually increase the quality of the operating system.
While it sounds far-fetched that something will improve because it’s going to work slower, it actually is very true. Because the page scroll feature was very sensitive until now, the system did not have a chance to load properly. This caused the phone to freeze for a few seconds, or give up the impression of lag. Samsung is working on a slower speed for scrolling that will give the pages enough time to fully load, the final results being a phone which runs smoother.
The news that Samsung’s Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Beta for Galaxy S6 models will slow down scrolling speed is, for the moment, just a rumor, as it has not been officially made public by the company. But it isn’t just a whisper in the wind, either. The rumors are based on the heavy testing that Samsung is undergoing for the new Beta operating system.
For the moment, the Beta update is available only for Samsung users that have signed up for the testing process. It shall be released for a broader public only after the feedback has been analyzed and eventual glitches have been resolved. The testers are from either the U.K. or South Korea.
Other features of the new operating system are 200 more emojis, an easier access panel for the Edge model, and a Task panel that can be customized by users. The Beta testers will be pleasantly surprised to discover that the update can be programmed to install itself at night, when the user has no need of the phone, thus reducing any inconvenience that the update might present to the customer.
In order to install the update, the volunteers from the Beta testing program will have to go to Settings – About device – Software Update.
For the moment the update is still under testing, meaning that it will take some time before it will be made available for the broad public. Let’s see how the testers react to the fact that Samsung’s Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Beta for Galaxy S6 models will slow down scrolling speed.
