Wisconsin authorities are about to conclude the 2014 Slender Man during which a teen was stabbed multiple times in a Milwaukee suburb. Anissa Weier, one of the teenagers who lured Payton Lautner into the woods, has been sentenced back in December to 25 years in a mental hospital. The court will soon determine if Morgan Geyser, the girl who stabbed Payton, will get the maximum mental hospital sentence.
Wisconsin Girls Wanted to Make an Offering to Slender Man
The court records show that in 2014 Morgan Geyser and her friend Anissa Weier weaved a plan to summon fictional character Slender Man in the woods by making a human offering. Befriending Payton Lautner, Geyser and Weier lured her into to a heavily forested area under the pretense of proving that Slender Man is real.
According to the authorities, after reaching Slender Man’s supposed hiding place, Geyser stabbed Payton 19 times, with Weier assisted. Believing that Payton was dead, the two headed back home. Fortunately, the girl managed to drag herself out of the forest and to flag down a passing cyclist.
The girl was taken to the nearby hospital for emergency surgery. Though severely wounded, Payton survived. However, the road to recovery will be long and strenuous.
Weier and Geyser were arrested and remained in custody. Back in December 2017, the jury found Weier guilty of second-degree intentional homicide and sentenced to 25 years in a mental hospital.
As for Geyser, the court wants the maximum sentence, but the girl agreed to plead guilty of first-degree intentional murder with the sole mention that she is suffering from a mental illness and could not have been in control of her actions at the time of the assault.
Court documents suggest that Geyser has schizophrenia and psychotic spectrum disorder, making her prone to delusions.
