CAPCOM presented Street Fighter V’s latest and last core character in the purple-clad and poison-wielding F.A.N.G. This will officially be the last one to join the main roster of the upcoming fighting game. The fighter will be joining the others to bring up the total of 16 characters with the game’s official release.
However, more are incoming.
During the PlayStation Experience conference in San Francisco, CAPCOM introduced the latest addition of their new fighter F.A.N.G. If it doesn’t sound familiar to the fans of the franchise, that’s understandable. F.A.N.G. is also the fourth new addition to game, among the long-standing names that have accompanied the franchise on its journey to the fifth installment.
4th new character to the franchise
Prospective players were offered a glimpse at F.A.N.G., and his slippery fighting style. Along with it, he also wields one weapon that has not yet been tackled by the franchise: poison. According to the official blog, his story deems him as an assassin who is also second in command of Shadaloo, along to M. Bison. He has a tendency of conducing evil experiments within the research facilities and is an expert in poison.
The short introduction trailer displayed F.A.N.G. in all his purple glory, showing off some new moves. This will include his V-skill, Nishodoku, which implies a slow moving projectile that will deal damage and poison his opponent. The V-trigger, Dokunomu, will see to F.A.N.G. surrounded by a ‘cloud of poison’ that will deal damage when his opponent is close.
The life of the other player’s character will continually drain until either they hit F.A.N.G. or the poison runs its course. For a fighting game, this could mean death, as this particularly one has showed himself to be quite successfully evasive.
16 core characters
And, with F.A.N.G., CAPCOM closed the list of core characters that will become available once the game officially launches on February 16th, 2016, in both North America and Europe. So far, there has been no confirmation of a digital release, so players will need to purchase the physical copy of the game. However, it’s likely coming, as CAPCOM is also putting up the 2016 Season Pass up for grabs at $29.99.
The 2016 Season Pass will include all the core characters, along with the six others that have been promised to be added post-launch. They will include Guile, Alex, Ibuki, Balrog, Juri, and Urien. For those purchasing the pass, they will be ready, instead of needing to purchase them at a later date or paying with Fight Money.
To make the offer more tempting, the season pass will also include avatars, additional attires and a PlayStation 4 theme. It will reportedly save you $30 if you were planning on buying them separately.
