As per the latest report of The World Health Organization, the health care system is on the verge of collapsing due to eastern Ukraine issues. Thus far, approximately five million people suffered because of the humanitarian crisis.
People who live in Donetsk and Luhansk are the highly affected ones. The shortage of drugs has ascended up the hazards of diseases like tuberculosis, measles and polio in these regions. The large number of unattended patients can easily transmit lethal disease to others.
Dorit Nitzan, WHO representative of Ukraine informs that hospitals are suffering from shortage of water and electricity. . It is now an extremely difficult task to reach to the hospitals even in emergency cases. Additionally, families are also facing scarcity of water and food items
The health care system of Ukraine was broken even before the Russian- Ukraine fight. However, the Ukraine conflict is responsible for the complete damage of health care system.
According to the report, around 5.1 million people are badly affected and need immediate health services. So far, nearly 700,000 people have been relocated including the women and children of Roma community. On the whole, the health coverage is almost 50 percent low.
In comparison, the death rates have reached up to 4,808 people. Meanwhile, around 40,468 people were badly injured during the fight of Ukraine and Russian government.
