A recent study strived hard to determine the fact check medical advices presented on The Dr. Oz’s medical show.
Experts chose 40 episodes of The Dr. Oz Show. They closely analyzed the medical guidance of Mehmet Oz. Normally; the star gave dietary advices along with therapies to the patients.
The research unveils that science merely supported 46 percent of the medical claims of Mehmet Oz. However, 36 percent lacks scientific evidence and rest of the advices were entirely opposed to the scientific study. In simple words, only half of the Oz’s recommendations are safe to follow.
Sadly, the report would not affect the TRP of the show as there are still thousands of viewers of his shows. The majority of the viewers actually follow his medical advices.
However, the most surprising thing is that Oz is a real doctor. He was a student of University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, he has been a prominent professor of surgery at Columbia. He is teaching at Columbia since last 13 years.
The study proposes that Dr. should immediately stop giving dangerous health advices on television. It also states that medical recommendations provided on medical talk shows generally lack proper information. Hence, the public should be cynical regarding the implementation of these recommendations.
Both the doctor and the team decline to make any comment on the outcome of the study.
The report is printed in the British Medical Journal.
