Particle accelerator, Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has been shut off for two years because of a major upgrade.

The machine is under laid beneath Swiss and French borders. Now when the machine recommence it will generate the atomic collision with energies of 13 tera-electron volts (TeV).

This is triple the power since the scientists of LHC made their momentous Higgs boson discovery in 2012.

Researchers are now searching for the elusive boson, which will give mass of other particles, since it was first theorised in 1964 by British physicist Peter Higgs.

Beam energies can be used for particle discoveries as the Albert Einstein’s mass energy equation E=mc2 says so.
High energy means that particles with greater mass can be created. Accelerators are also used to enlighten the nature of fundamental particles and forces, and higher energy gives them more resolution.

An important question arises about the lesser quantity of antimatter because according to the Big Bang theory 13.8 Billion years ago, the amount of matter and antimatter should be equal.

The new upgraded LHC would disclose the facts about the mysterious invisible substance that makes up more than a quarter of the mass-energy of the universe and holds galaxies together called the “Dark Matter”.

Scientists also hope to start testing the theory of Supersymmetry, which predicts that every known particle has a corresponding and unknown “super-particle” partner.

There are four major experiments of LHC named LHCb, Alice, Atlas and CMS which are centered on one huge detector blocks arranged around its 27 kilometer (17 mile) long beam tunnel ring.
