Earlier, scientists warned that this close encounter was extremely risky since it can damage the Siding comet. However, researchers took this risk just to get a closer look of Mars, although this mountain like heavy comet can hit the MAVEN.
Luckily, the spacecraft remains safe after passing the planet with a speed of 87,000 miles. This safe and sound encounter indeed took a lot of burden from the shoulders of scientists.
