A group of researchers from the University of Southern Denmark casted a doubt on the Higgs Boson particle.  The particle is also commonly known as Gold particle.

Two years ago scientist of European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) claimed that they uncovered the Higgs Boson Particle.  It is considered as the theoretical elementary particle in the Standard Model of Particle physics. Generally, it provides mass to other sub-atomic particle.

Mads Toudal Frandsen, a physicist at the University stated that CERN presented the data which is usually taken as a proof for Higgs Particle. Undoubtedly, the data slightly explains the presence of Higgs particle. Unfortunately, the data is not precise enough to figure out the particle accurately. There are numerous other particles such as “techni-quark particle” that can produce a data pretty similar to Higgs Boson.

The experts proposed that it could be any other theoretical particle that Large Hadron Collider (LHC) considered as Higgs Boson. The properties of this particular particle are not entirely similar to the Higgs particle.

Moreover, Frandsen informed that both the particles indicate towards two completely different theories. These theories try to give some insight about the formation of the universe.

Nevertheless, all the above statement pose big question mark on the latest discovery of CERN. On the flip side, if it turns out to be a techni-quark particle then it is also a great achievement. Thus far, no one has ever discovered techni-quark particle.

The study is entitled as “Technicolor Higgs boson in the light of LHC data”. It is printed in the Journal Physical Review.
