Police soon after verified the news that a number of the 19 people arrested had triad backgrounds and the results of fighting added a new tension to protests involving tens of thousands of students and protesters from the Occupy group who have controlled the streets for almost a week in hot and humid temperatures.

Activist Dorothy Lui, a 22-year-old public health student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong said that people here are getting hyper and less normal and annoyed because of the past week, because of this she was tensed the shift in mood among exhausted students, most of whom have been blocked city streets for a week. She further said that the trust between police and students had been totally broken after last Sunday’s use of tear gas and anger at perceived operational from police during the fighting on Friday and it’s quite risky if a lot of huge crowds have mad emotions against police and government.

When the news spread on social media that the protest place in Mong Kok had been attacked, thousands of people gathered at the scene, surrounding leaders of the attack, shouting at police to arrest them and the law and order situation in Mong Kok was very terrible after thugs attacks on the protestor last night.

LA

Los Angeles School District; oversight committee rejected a contract by officials on Thursday of nearly $42 million to spend on new computers purchases under a contentious and lately perched, technology contract.

According to the official report, the purchase request is the newest expansion in $1.3bn project. The project is designated with the aim to provide computer for every student, teacher along with the campus administrator in the Nation’s 2nd largest School System.

Overall, the L.A Unified School District bought 109,000 iPads prior to the schools supt. On the August 25th, John Deasy stopped the further purchases. He told that the district will start a new bidding program as of growing market, technology advancements, and lesion learned in the first part of the attempt.

On the other hand, Mark Hovatter (Facilities Division Head) stated that, the district was searching for the best technique to knob the need for computers. He further said, “We are only in search of devices. We are not bound to this agreement, though it’s just an option which is available to us. If we will get the best deal, we will not cease the contract.”

It has been reported that, Deasy has ceased the contract for the iPad days, though after the email disclosure, it has been found that his manager and top deputy has a close relationship with Apple, iPad maker, and Pearson that provided curriculum on the devices. Deasy, who has denied any indecency, saved himself from participation in the bidding because he owned Apple stock.

The officials stated that, new bidding has not started yet, though, the district claimed that they need $25mn more in computers immediately for the state tests. The exams would increase to its fullest this spring, needing twice as long about 8 hours to complete. But, the oversight committee confronts the district option to limit the tests to 2 hr/day and just in the morning.
