Acer is all geared up to release the first ever 15.6 inch Chromebook on Consumer Electronic Show CES held in Las Vegas. After the success of the Chromebooks during the Holiday sales on Amazon in the consumer market, the company believes that the Chromebook has come of age to enter the business market.
The 15 inch Chromebook is also going to be the company’s first Chromebook to support the latest fifth generation of Intel core i3 and Celeron processors. In essence it can be used as an ultimate tool for both in the office work environment and while working away from office as well.
It comes in two display variants, depending on what the customer wants. The full HD display has a 1920×1080 resolution that ensures sharp and legible text as well as vivid, clear videos and photos. The second choice is an HD 1366×768 resolution display for budget-minded customers.
The company also claims that even though with the larger screen, the Chromebook would be able to deliver superior battery life.
The device also houses a fast 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, a USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port and HDMI port.
The company also claims that the build quality of the Chromebook is quite good and tough, able to withstand up to 60 kg of force, while the corners can tolerate up to 45cm drops without damage.
