On Thursday, at around 3 a.m., the Amador County deputies were summoned to a Pine Grove home after a woman claimed that her son gunned down his family.

The authorities were contacted by Thayer’s 60-year-old mother who received a disturbing call from her 4-year-old niece who was in the house when the incident occurred.
Based on the girl’s testimony and the coroner’s report, the investigators determined that several minutes before the woman contacted the authorities, Jacob used his legally-owned gun and executed his wife and father. Both victims had a single gunshot wound to their heads, indicating that the perpetrator probably shot them while they were fast asleep.
Next to Thayer II’s and Leonetti’s bodies, the authorities discovered Jacob’s corpse with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
