The Calgary authorities announced the discovery of a male body stuck inside the walls of a small restroom. According to the police report, the unidentified male might have fallen through a wall opening while navigating the vents. The grim discovery was made by a Canadian Mall employee called in to fix a toilet.
Canadian Mall Employee Discovers Body Behind Metal Panel
On Monday morning, the Calgary authorities were directed to the Core shopping center after a caller notified the emergency operator about a body being discovered during maintenance work.
The law enforcement officials arrived at the scene at around 9:30 a.m. According to one of the officers on scene, the cadaver, which has yet to be identified, was found behind a metal panel.
On that day, a maintenance worker went to the women’s bathroom situated on the fourth floor, as customers complained that the toilet wasn’t working properly. The Canadian Mall Employee removed the metal panel behind the toilet bowl to expose the automatic flushing mechanism.
After removing the metal panel, the worker discovered the cadaver and notified the authorities.
The autopsy revealed very little about the way the unidentified male died. According to the coroner’s report, no foul play was involved, his death being ruled as an accident.
Based on the evidence recovered from the scene, the Canadian authorities determined that the individual, possibly a mall employee, was navigating the vents when he fell through an opening and got stuck in the narrow space behind the women’s restroom.
Conclusion
Emma Poole, A Calgary Police Department spokesperson, declared that the body’s autopsy remains inconclusive and the detectives will continue looking into the case. So far, nobody filed a missing person’s report.
IDing the body could prove to be challenging as it was in an advanced stage of decomposition when discovered by the Canadian mall employee.
