A 20-year-old woman from Florida was arrested and charged with child endangerment and drug paraphernalia possession after the authorities learned that she was giving her 2-year-old baby meth and marijuana. The Florida woman even boasted to some of her friends that her baby knows how to roll joints.
Baby Tested Positive for Chronic Meth and Pot Consumption
On Thursday, the Wakulla County sheriff’s deputies arrested 20-year-old Kaitlyn Ecker after a four-month-long investigation.
At the beginning of January, the deputies launched a child abuse investigation in Ecker’s case after learning that the woman might force her 2-year-old toddler to consumed dangerous narcotics.
A house search revealed that the woman had an impressive collection of drug paraphernalia. The investigators recovered two glass meth pipes, two grinders, a small bag, which tested positive for crystal meth, an electronic scale, and a plastic bottle the woman fashioned into a smoking device.
Following her arrest, the Florida woman declared that the glass meth pipes weren’t hers and that she never consumed drugs near her child. However, the toxicology report ordered by the court revealed that the 2-year-old toddler tested positive for both meth and marijuana. More than that, the medical examiner’s office found that the infant had all the signs of a chronic consumer.
Conclusion
When faced with the charges, the woman confessed to coaxing her child into smoking meth and sometimes marijuana. Moreover, she admitted to consuming pot the night before her interrogation and smoking meth months before her arrest.
At the moment, the authorities have refused to disclose any details pertaining to Ecker’s motive or what will happen to her child. In addition, although most presume that the child discovered in Ecker’s home is her daughter, the authorities are still trying to determine the nature of the relationship between the Florida woman and the 2-year-old baby.
