Finally, A Je Suis Charlie iPhone app got approval from Apple. The largest tech company released the app on App Store on Sunday.
A few days ago, developers of Je Suis Charlie app directly contacted Tim Cook and requested for the approval. They merely wanted to roll out the app during the huge rally which held at Paris. Numerous leaders such as Ukrainian President, Palestinian President and the Russian Foreign Minister participated in that rally.
Je Suis Charlie is an application that supports the victims of the attacked of last Wednesday. Last week, gunmen killed twelve people among which four were the Charlie’s cartoonists.
Generally, it takes around 10-15 days to gain approval from Apple. In this case, it seems like Apple helped the developers when they contacted to the company. Surprisingly, the app rolled out after ten minutes of the first email from the developers.
A French startup has created the application with a slogan “We stand together against barbarity, and we are all Charlie”. The new app allows users to add their locations on map in order to support freedom of speech and the victims of Charlie Hebdo. The app is free for every country and everyone can download it and mark their location on map.
As per the data of the app developers, Up till now around 44,000 people have downloaded the app.
