The first Orion test flight called Exploration Flight Test-1 (EFT-1) planned to blastoff on December 4th, 2014 from Cape Canaveral in Florida.
As per the official reports revealed today, NASA declared that the public can send their names for addition on a dime-sized microchip that will travel on spacecraft journeying to destinations beyond low-Earth orbit, including Mars.
After very first few hours of announcement, more than 170,000 members got signed up! So, don’t waste your time and get registered. The deadline to submit your names is Oct 31st, 2014.
Mark Geyer, Orion Program manager stated that, “NASA is actually approaching the borders of exploration and working hard to send people to Mars in the future.”
He further stated that, “We really want people to be part of our journey. As we reach the Red Planet, we will be exploring for all of humanity.”
