NASA is all set to launch a new project to closely analyze the cause and effect of the climate change through an air bone. The Agency planned to begin this airborne campaign in 2015. The main purpose of NASA’s aircraft is to complete five different studies all around the globe. It will examine and collect data from all these studies in order to provide answers regarding the systems of the Earth. Jack Kaye, a researcher of NASA’s Earth Science Division informed that these explorations will focus on a wide range of unanswered questions. These questions are extremely significant to comprehend the processes of Earth. Therefore, these aircraft experiment will allow researchers to explore inside processes. Four years ago, researchers chose the following five campaigns through a special competition. These campaigns will include seven NASA centers, two industry partners, 3 Government Agencies of United States and 25 educational Institution.
- Melting Greenland Glaciers
- African Fires and Atlantic Clouds
- Green House Gas Sources
- Atmospheric Chemistry and Air Pollution
- Ecosystem Changes in a Warming Ocean.
Every campaign is included in NASA’s Earth Venture-Class projects. The projects are funded at a total cost of $30 million There are three phases of this study first initial development, field campaign and evaluation of the data. Every study will work on a different goal. For instance, The Atmospheric Carbon and Transport-America project will precisely measure the main sources of the emission of greenhouse gases. The project will include all kind of greenhouse gases such as methane, carbon dioxide and many others. The Ecosystem Changes in a Warming Ocean will struggle hard to find the entire process of transformation of ocean ecosystem in to ocean warming. It will also analyze the life span of phytoplankton. A few researchers believe that large growth of phytoplankton can influence the Energy Budget.
