On Tuesday, a Lost Angeles jury found Blake Leibel guilty of all charges. The 37-year-old graphic novelist has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the 2016 torture and murder of Iana Kasian, his 30-year-old live-in girlfriend.
Blake Leibel Reenacted the Revulsive Experiments of Novel’s Protagonist
Son of an affluent real estate tycoon and former Olympics champion, Black Leibel spend most of his time pursuing his life-long passion for writing.
Until his arrest, Leibel has lived in a West Hollywood apartment with an $18K monthly allowance from his mother.
In 2010, the Hollywood-based graphic novelist became very popular among graphic novel fans after publishing “Syndrome,” a gut-wrenching novel focused on the exploits of a mad scientist who wanted to rid the world of evil.
Tannaz Mokayef, Leibel’s prosecutor, declared during the man’s trial, that his actions mirrored those of his character.
More specifically, the mad scientist from “Syndrome” wanted to prove that evil could be rooted out of the human brain just like a cancerous tumor. He goes on to prove his theory by performing vivisection on a psychopath.
Beth Silverman, the District Attorney, declared that during the six-hour-long torture session, Kasian, Leibel’s 30-year-old girlfriend and the mother of his child, faced similar ordeals as the psychopath in “Syndrome.”
Conclusion
Blake Leibel used a knife to remove part of Kasian’s face. He threw away the body parts as though they were trash. The coroner’s report also suggests that before she died, Kasian has been held underwater.
The West Hollywood madman ended Kasian’s life by draining her of blood. For his deeds, Blake Leibel has been sentenced in the presence of the Los Angeles jury and Kasian’s Russian mother to life in prison without parole.
