Blackberry is now working on to win back the confidence of its investors. The company has unveiled the first part of its plan to design a platform that connects the shipping container and vehicles via Internet of Things (IoT).

Blackberry said in a statement today that the IoT pulls the company’s device-management technology and its QNX OS together and has already embedded 50 million vehicles.

Chief executive officer John Chen is diversifying the Waterloo, Ontario-based company after its share of the global Smartphone market fell to less than 1 percent. The IoT which actually refers to the web-connectivity of everyday electronics will surely be a major source of growth in the future. Chen said last month.

“As to when it’s going to shore up the top line, it’s probably going to take a little while but it’s not going to be a long while,” Chen said today in an interview on CNBC. The platform is going through trials at hospitals, connecting medical devices, he said.

The shares dropped 0.5 percent to $10.57 at 1:57 p.m. in New York. They rose 48 percent last year.

Companies that will be using this platform could be able to keep the track record of vehicles running BlackBerry’s software and can also measure the usage of AC, media content and even the position of seat and steering, according to BlackBerry’s website.

The system can also be used to keep the track record of the specific shipping containers or pallets fitted with transmitting devices to help organize supply chains.

Blackberry and Boeing have designed a smartphone for employees and personnel of security industry that will self-destruct if any case is opened.

Despite of losing its popularity among the normal users because of android and other smartphones, the company is still quite popular among the business users.

Blackberry have teamed up with Boeing Company to design a super secured smartphone “Black Boeing” for the workers in the field of security and defense.

If the phone gets into wrong hands it will erase all the data in it making itself unusable like mission impossible style.

According to the documents filled by Federal Communications Commission the phone’s design is made invulnerable. It is completely sealed with no user-serviceable parts. The phone is locked with epoxy and temper proof screws that would erase all the data if anyone try to remove its hard drive.

The phone is equipped with dual SIM card service one connected with regular users and other with government network.

The data stored in the phone will be protected by Blackberry Enterprise server named BES12 which has multiple strict permission levels for accessing data.

“We’re pleased to announce that Boeing is collaborating with BlackBerry to provide a secure mobile solution for Android devices utilizing our BES12 platform…. That, by the way, is all they allow me to say.” Said BlackBerry’s chief executive John Chen on Monday during company’s call.

Until now nobody has the idea that how much the phone will cost.

Being the CEO of the company, Mr. Chen has increased the company’s concern towards the business and government users. The company has already released two phones this year for business users, one “Passport” and the other “Classic”.

The company reported a loss of $148 million for the third quarter of this year which is far better than the loss of $4 billion which the company had faced last year. Chen said that continuing efforts will make the company profitable till 2016.

We have well-known about the gadget for some time, but the Blackberry has launched the Passport smartphone, a handset that directly goes down as one of the most exceptional on the market and this gadget has a 2.2 GHz, quad-core processor, 32GB of storage (and a micro-SD card slot), 4GB of RAM, a 13 MP camera and a huge 3,450 mAh rechargeable battery which BlackBerry says is able of giving 30 hours of usage on a full charge.

The latest arrangement “touch-enabled” keyboard/touchpad placed just below the screen proposes what BlackBerry hopes is a superior experience than with earlier models. The keys are assembled into three rows as an alternative of the common four row design and it has better the audio quality of the phone and has generated a device switch application to assist move a user’s files from all other mobile phones or even older BlackBerry OS 10 phones.

The latest Passport smart phone runs OS 10.3, the newest version of the BlackBerry’s recent operation system. It features BlackBerry Assistant a competitor to Siri and Google Now and its characteristic is said to be dissimilar from its rivalry by offering three separate modes: understands vocalization requests, dealing with typed requests when a consumer is in a meeting and giving an absolutely hands-free mode for when the user is driving.

So, we know why Blackberry has followed this shape and gone “stylish to be square”. It is stylish, advance and really very excellent too, in that sort of professional and functional way that all Blackberry’s are, while it feels good in hand thanks to its stainless steel border (noticeable on the sides) and soft touch rear plate.
