Uber has been under a lot of attention lately, and unfortunately, most of the attention was focused on the negative parts of the company. Most of the complaints directed towards the ride-sharing company are related to sexual abuse and a not-so-thorough background check policy. But Michael Pelletz, a former Uber driver, is currently working on a new business plan. Thanks to him, women will have their own Uber soon.
Women Will Have Their Own Uber Soon
More specifically, on the 19th of April. The service will only be available in Boston at the moment, but if it is successful, it may expand in other big cities across the United States.
Pelletz is working on launching this service because women deserve to feel safe when they get in the car with a complete stranger. And Uber has not been helpful from this point of view. More and more aggression complaints are being registered against Uber drivers.
That is Why Pelletz wants to design a car sharing service just for women. So that they could feel safe when they enter a car that is driven by a fellow female.
Background Checks Will Be Thorough
Unlike the way Uber handles things, Pelletz wants his employees checked and double checked before they meet their first client. “Chariot for Women” will use the same background check platform as kindergartens and schools.
Furthermore, all of their female drivers will have to pass the Record Information of Criminal Offenders check. The company will also require their employees to provide fingerprints, in case they will ever be needed.
“Chariot for Women” Will Be Available for Every Woman
When it comes to the safety of women, Pelltez is not going to make any compromises or discrimination. According to the former Uber driver, all women will be welcomed to use the car-sharing service, including Trans and other individuals who identify themselves as belonging to the female gender.
Moreover, the service will be available for all children under the age of 13. And their parents will be able to call them a Chariot without worrying about the fact that something might happen to them.
So in the case of an emergency, parents will be able to safely reach for the services of “Chariot for Women” because they will know that the female drivers employed by the company will have been as thoroughly checked as their children’s schoolteacher.
Women will have their own Uber soon, and according to the forums, that makes them very happy. They say that a female driver will always make them feel safer and they will use the services of the company as soon as it hits the market.
