This time it seems like Lenovo come up with an extremely innovative way of promotion of its new Yoga 3 Pro.
Lenovo played a prank at a mall for the marketing of its Yoga 3 Pro laptop.
Lenovo appointed a famous comic group known as Upright Citizen Brigade. In this prank the comic troupe wants people to believe that they broke the Apple MacBook Air.
The prank starts with a fake worker of Lenovo standing on a booth of a shopping mall. The man informs the shoppers about the major differences between the Apple MacBook Air and Yoga 3. Afterwards, the false employee calls a passerby and breaks the expensive Apple MacBook Air into two pieces and run away.
Later on, a new employee comes and ask the passer-by “did you break this?” What would you do if you are in a situation like this? Obviously surprised. This is what happens with the majority of the passer-by.
On the other hand, the company informed that the prank is specially designed for people who cannot relate with conventional advertising. Such kind of customers are commonly known as millennial consumers. They are born between the year 1983 and 2000.
Astonishingly, people criticized Lenovo for using this type of marketing strategy. People commented that a person would certainly hate Lenovo after facing all this.
Moreover, people concentrated more on the battle of Apple and Lenovo instead of the content of advertisement.
