It seems like sky is all set to offer another New Year gift to Sky Lovers. Here comes good news for Sky gazers who want to get a glimpse of something similar to comet Lovejoy. This Saturday, sky will show a once in a decade event of radiant celestial body. The comet will again decorate the sky with its fuzzy green glow.
Lovejoy would be at it nearest distance from Earth. The comet would be nearly 105 million km away. It is expected to shine intensely on Saturday night. The comet would most probably sparkle on the southwestern region of the sky.
Sky lovers can effortlessly view it a few hours before sunset and after sunset. People who live in cities need to search for their binocular in stores or attics in order to get the best view of this incredible sight. However, the unpolluted, clear and dark sky of countryside will display the comet show which can be viewed without binoculars.
Normally, such kind of event comes after a long time period of 11,500 years. Hence, it is preferred to gather all your friends and arrange a special party at country side.
Geoff Wyatt, Sydney Observatory astronomer states that there are numerous objects present in the sky. It is as if sky takes out things from bag that startles sky lovers. These surprises are no less than any surprise birthday party. The saddest part is that people are only aware of moon, stars and planets.
