Texas Man Was Popular Among Students, Authorities Declared
Sidney Bouvier Gilstrap-Portley was recently arrested and charged after the authorities learned that he lied on his high school enrollment card.
Gilstrap-Portley took advantage of Hurricane Harvey to enroll at the Skyline High School in Dallas. Superintendent Michael Hinojosa of the Dallas Independent School District noted that the hurricane proved to be the perfect subterfuge for the Texas man.
Based on the police report, Bouvier went to the high school and declared that he’s homeless.
Hinojosa explained that the Dallas-based high school has a more relaxed enrollment policy when it comes to homeless children.
The man told the school officials that he’s 17 and that his name is Rashaun Richardson.
Gilstrap-Portley remained below the radar for a while, until he secured a transfer to the Hillcrest High School.
The individual started to attract unwanted attention after the mother of a 14-year-old student contacted the authorities regarding Richardson’s behavior.
Meanwhile, the Texas man became somewhat of a high school star, with everyone looking up to him, especially female students.
According to Dallas detectives, Gilstrap-Portley was the high school’s best basketball player.
However, during his stay at the Hillcrest High School, he got involved with a 14-year-old girl.
The student’s mother told the authorities that the man was seen kissing and touching her daughter inappropriately.
Shortly after, the 25-year-old Texas man was arrested and charged. Following Gilstrap-Portley’s arrest, the authorities discovered that the man graduated in 2011.
The Texas man will have to answer for one count of tampering with official documents.
