The Mountain Vie, CA based tech giant Google has certainly did a great job by purchasing the famous 2006 launched website YouTube. The video and broadcasting platform has a world wide relevant popularity and it can play a major role in any plan that Google Inc. intends to put in action. Google Inc. has recently launched a campaign to make ground for the new `buy` button which will be featured directly on the search results pages by Google. The most recent info in connection to this matter has been recently released by the advertising head at Google Inc. and it announces that YouTube will support Google on its way to e-commerce.
The ad:tech conference by Google has taken place today in San Francisco. During the event, the advertising head of Google, Sridhar Ramaswamy, has announced that YouTube is going to be integrated into the e-commerce strategy of the Silicon Valley tech giant. “TrueView for shopping” is a new ad product which has been presented during the ad:tech conference in San Francisco. According to Sridhar Ramaswamy, the speaker who introduced the ad product, “TrueView for shopping” basically means that YouTube will facilitate the `shopping the show` way of commerce throughout the world wide web. It seems that a `buy` button will not be integrated into YouTube, but the video and broadcasting platform will feature ads which will link to the third party websites that can provide YouTube users with the products that they are looking for.
Based on the growth in popularity of the `how to` videos and also of the reviews of products on YouTube, most of the tech analysts who have manifested an interest in this matter reckon that “TrueView for shopping” will be another hit to contribute to the global success of Google Inc. While watching a review of a brand new smartphone, for example, any YouTube user will have at hand an ad which will lead them to a website that sells that specific smartphone.
“For the longest time, I would look at catalogues to figure out what to buy. My teenage sons are much more likely to search for videos. This shopping format tends to be an extremely natural addition to how people think about buying.”
said Ramaswamy, commenting on the introduction of the new ad product by Google.
Featuring ads related to videos is often irritating the users and that may be the main obstacle on the way of the new ad product to success. However, the ad boss at Google has stated that the users can decide if they want to see ads or not, being able to turn off the option.
